Reporting infringement

If you believe content on Played infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at hi@played.fm (or by post to the address above) that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (for example, the storefront URL and track title).
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

Please only submit notices for content you genuinely believe infringes your rights — misrepresentations may create liability.

Our process

On receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material and make a reasonable effort to notify the user who posted it.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to hi@played.fm that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material removed and the location it appeared before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and to accept service of process from the complainant.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material unless the original complainant files a court action within the time the law allows.

Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

AI-generated content

Played welcomes music made with AI, but you must have the commercial rights to what you upload. Content that copies or closely imitates a specific artist’s work or that you do not have rights to may be removed on a valid notice.
